Cordele, Georgia

We arrived in Cordele, Georgia, after a relaxing drive through the countryside. Otto was a good boy and with the exception of occasionally resting his head on my shoulder he kept to himself and slept most of the way. The KOA in Cordele is quite beautiful, but because of the earlier rain it felt like being in a sauna. Took Otto for a walk, stepped into an ants nest and was bit numerous times while our boy tried to find the perfect spot for his business. I was not surprised to find that they sell postcards that declare the mosquito as the State bird for Georgia.

The air conditioner is on high and Otto took over the walking area in the RV. What idiot thought that a Great Dane would make the perfect travel companion in a camper?????

Tomorrow we'll be going to Charleston, SC. We hope for a breeze and less bugs.


Wir sind in Cordele, Georgia, angekommen. Die Fahrt war angenehm und fuehrte durch gruenes Farmland. Es muss hier haeufiger regnen als bei uns in Florida.

Otto war ein guter Reisegeselle. Ab und zu legte er seinen Kopf auf meine Schulter, doch die meiste Zeit hat er schlafend verbracht.  Der Campingplatz ist sehr sauber und nett angelegt, doch die Luft war wie in der Sauna. Kein Vergnuegen, wenn man einen Hund auszufuehren hat. Und Otto liess sich reichlich Zeit, um den perfekten Platz fuer sein Doodoo zu finden. Ich kam mit Ameisen- und Mueckenstuecken zum Camper zurueck und fand spaeter Postkarten im Laden, die Mosquitos als Georgia's Nationalvogel angeben.

Otto hat den Wohnwagen uebernommen und macht es zum Sport, an ihm vorbeizukommen. Welcher Dussel dachte, dass ein Hund wie Otto der perfekte Reisegeselle fuer das Leben in einem Wohnwagen waere?????

Morgen geht es weiter nach Charleston, SC. Wir hoffen auf Wind und weniger Ungeziefer.
